The P4CBP identifies and integrates each student's unique skills and perspectives into real world projects that directly impact Ohio's communities. We create a supportive environment for students to explore their academic and professional interests while contributing to the disciplines of behavioral health promotion and substance abuse prevention. We also foster reciprocal learning experiences, whereby students and mentors grow as professionals. We value the passion, creativity, and innovation that students bring to our work and workplace.
We believe in the power of collaboration. As part of the P4CBP team, OHIO students have opportunities to engage in meaningful work and professional development that helps prepare them for future endeavors after their time on campus is complete. We are grateful for the contributions of our students and their passion for learning.

MSW Intern 2023-2024
As an MSW Fieldwork Intern, I worked on two projects. The Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships for Success Communities of Practice in Southeast Ohio (SPF-PFS in SEO), and The Community of Practice Rural Community Opioid Response Program (CoP- RCORP). My role was to coordinate and facilitate a sustainability plan training and sustainability planning process with two community-based coalitions focused on substance misuse and underage drinking prevention among youths in Adams and Lawrence counties. My second role was to conceptualize and develop a health promotion communication plan audience assessment tool to expand the HRSA National Maternal Mental Health Campaign on postpartum depression hotline access for women in Ashtabula, Sandusky, Seneca, and Fairfield Counties in State of Ohio.

Ohio Adult Allies Podcast- Youth-Infused Community Coalitions: Perspectives from Coalition Directors
During my three years as an Undergraduate Research Scholar, I held various roles across multiple projects and events that enhanced my classroom learning and influenced my post-graduate decisions.
Most of my work was with the COP-RCORP, Ohio Adult Allies, and CCIM4C initiatives. My daily tasks were highly variable, including assignments such as collaborating to create health education materials for communities to coordinating the scheduling, recording, and editing of three podcast episodes. This position also provided valuable connections for two internships with partner agencies and offered me the space, resources, and support to advance my credentials before graduation.

Student Employee December 2022-May 2024
I think that working in prevention is a great way for students to work towards social change by promoting health and inclusion. This job is a prime learning opportunity and a way to gain experience in the field. If you are someone who cares about the health and well-being of others, this is the right job for you!
I was a student employee from December of 2022, (although I started closer to January of 2023) to May of 2024! I graduated OU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, plus a certificate in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. I currently work for Ohio University through the College of Osteopathic Medicine as a research program assistant with the Diabetes Institute!
