I'm excited to share our new books are coming out, published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Corwin, to support teachers and children in exploring, understanding, and responding to social injustice in mathematics education. There are news books at three levels- early elementary (PreK-2), upper elementary (3-5), and middle school (6-8)- to complement the high school (9-12) book that was published in 2020.
The books include beginning chapters to introduce teachers to foundational ideas in equity- and justice-based teaching in mathematics, and then lead to lessons submitted by a wide range of authors who implemented lessons in a diverse array of classrooms.
