Tom Martino left Bel Air, Maryland, for the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University. In his second semester of college, Tom seized the opportunity to join Dr. Zhu's research lab. He fully immersed himself in the scientific process, learning as much as possible to start contributing to the Osteoarthritis Research Laboratory at Ohio University, dedicating his time and energy to experiments and inquiry. During his first college summer, Tom worked on a study and traveled to Rush University in Chicago, where he acquired a specialized procedure. Tom finds himself at a pivotal point in his academic and research journey. In a research environment that aligns perfectly with his interests, he refines his skills, both in the classroom and the lab. Tom is dedicated to contributing to our collective understanding of biology and making meaningful contributions to scientific knowledge. He is committed to the arduous yet rewarding journey of crafting a thesis that will testify to his dedication and the wealth of knowledge he has gained at Ohio University. Tom also works as a personal trainer at Well Works and Ping Recreation Center and loves discussing health and fitness in his spare time. As Tom moves forward, he is excited to take the following steps in his academic and research career, with boundless enthusiasm for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
