Featured Research Areas
Corinne Nielsen's research at Ohio University focuses on three main areas:
Genetic Regulation of Neurovascular Development
Our lab studies how genes control the development of the nervous and vascular systems, and how these systems interact to support brain function.
Neurovascular Physiology and Pathophysiology
We investigate the normal functioning of neurovascular systems and what happens when these systems malfunction, such as in brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
Interdependent Development of Nervous and Vascular Systems
We explore how the development and function of the nervous system are tightly coordinated with the vascular system, ensuring proper neuronal metabolism and function.
